It's time to rock The Discovery Center's Read-A-Thon

I am excited to participate in The Discovery Center's 2nd Annual Read-A-Thon! Last year, our community rallied around this fun, virtual event and raised more than just money- we reignited our passion for reading, learning, and fun. This year, The Discovery Center is more important than ever for our youngest learners. At The DC, children of all ages participate in hands-on learning, imaginative play, and social exploration. Here, children have the opportunity to play, create, experiment, and take risks in a safe, fun setting. It is a place where children are first exposed to the joy that learning brings.
I am a proud donor of the Read-A-Thon fundraiser. In addition, I am excited to be a featured reader again. This year I will be reading "Three Cheers for Kid McGear" by Sherri Dusky Rinker. This book is a fan favorite in my boy-filled house. It's a great reminder for readers, big and small, that with persistence and a "can do" attitude even the biggest of challenges can be accomplished. That lesson is so fitting for all that we face today!
