The Discovery Center has always had a special place in my heart and was one of my favorite places to go in Binghamton as a child. Even today, taking my own kids there, I think I may have just as much fun as they do going “shopping” at Weis, walking around the free story garden, and “driving” the fire truck. After visiting other children’s museums while on vacation, I am always reminded of how lucky we are to have this great asset in Binghamton for the community to enjoy.

As a member of the Board of Directors for the past four years, and the Treasurer for the two years, it has been enlightening to understand the inner workings of the Museum, the people that help to make the Museum thrive, and to gain a better understanding of how important it is to the community. While the DC has been lucky to weather the storm of the COVID-19 pandemic, including closure of our childcare programs and museum for several months, and significantly reduced capacity in the museum for nearly a year, it is important that we keep working towards keeping this community jewel afloat. I look forward to reading and hope you’ll consider making a financial gift to support the longevity this great organization!
