Growing up I used to love to read, anything and everything. It was my way to escape reality and also immerse myself in whole other universes! It remains a lifetime love of books and reading that I remain passionate about. Two of my favorite children’s books were Barney the Beagle and Mooch the Messy. I have the books still to this day but you can tell how often they were read when I was a child. Both have seen better days! I now volunteer at the library to help others discover the love of books. My connection to The Discovery Center goes all the way back to 5th grade. I had been awaiting our field trip to TDC for a month and on the day I was to finally have my chance to visit I broke out in chicken pox. I was devastated. I then had a younger cousin intern at TDC while I was away at college. And I still had never been there! When I resettled back in this area I was asked to join as a member of the Board of Directors and from 2007 until very recently I served on the Board, volunteering for various fundraisers and events and still support TDC as much as I can. It is a gem in our area. I have the distinct honor of having two nieces and a nephew that graduated from the preschool program at The Discovery Center. A large chunk of my heart and memories will always be tied to that magical place. Anytime I have a chance to reconnect with all of the wonderful things going on there, I get giddy with glee. This project is no different. Not only do I get to share my love of reading but I get to do so in a way that helps raise money for a place that has given me and my family so many memories over the years and we have all grown to love. Please enjoy the stories and donate what you can-you will never in your lifetime regret it. -Angel

Growing up I used to love to read, anything and everything. It was my way to escape reality and also immerse myself in whole other universes! It remains a lifetime love of books and reading that I remain passionate about. Two of my favorite children’s books were Barney the Beagle and Mooch the Messy.
