I’m helping The Discovery Center Children’s Museum raise money for its first Annual Read-A-Thon! I am trying to raise $250.00 (or more!) for this fund raising effort to help us through the financial stress caused by the Covid-19 closure of the Museum. The Read-A-Thon is a marathon of reading where many friends of The Discovery Center will be reading their favorite books to reach a fundraising goal, all while supporting literacy efforts for children.
I’ve worked at The Discovery Center for almost 18 years and worn many different hats from the “Bubble Lady” to Camp Instructor to overseeing exhibits, public programs and special events. Every day is always exciting, challenging, but most of all, rewarding. We strive to give children the tools to imagine, create and grow through play. That is, after all, their most important job!
Won’t you help me make sure that the Discovery Center and its Story Garden can continue to be here for the children in our community and be the magical place it is? No donation is too small and all of the monies raised will go directly to the Museum where it is needed most. Join me on July 18 where my video will be live streamed on You Tube as part of a virtual reading marathon. Thanks for your support!
