Please Support Julie Shapiro and The Discovery Center Read-A-Thon

The Discovery Center is near and dear to me, as it was my children's favorite destination for interactive play. When my children were still young (ages two and six) I had the opportunity to join the "Garden Girls" in helping create and establish the Story Garden, from ideas to fundraising to the actual building of the garden. I am so proud that the garden has become a destination for children and families to spend time together reading books and interacting with nature. Here I am in the Butterfly area of The Story Garden.

During this difficult time, the Discovery Center is raising funds to meet its immediate needs, through a Read-A-Thon on July 18th.
I will videotape myself reading "Waiting for Wings,", one of the original books found in the Story Garden. Jonathan will join me, reading "Goodnight Moon" (in costume) and "Flamingos on the Roof" a book of poems. These videos along with those of other readers will be streamed on YouTube on the Discovery Center's facebook page and website. As a reader, I am raising funds, and - any donation from $5 on up will help us achieve our goal. Thank you so much - Julie
