Dear Friends and Family,

Many of you know the Discovery Center as a very special place for children and adults alike; truly a treasure for our community, offering a creative hands-on museum experience. As youngsters my children spent many hours exploring and learning in it’s magical environment and my daughter was fortunate to work as a counselor there for a number of years. I currently serve on Discovery Center’s Foundation Board of Directors.

Due to the pandemic The Discover Center is experiencing tough financial times.
In response, the museum will be holding a virtual Read-a-Thon on Saturday, July 18th corresponding with World Listening Day as a creative way of raising awareness and much needed funds for one of our premier local attractions.
During this virtual Read-a-Thon I am pleased to be reading aloud and reaching out for your financial support for this worthy cause. Any contribution, however modest, is greatly appreciated.
I will be reading The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein.

What is a Read-a-thon? It is like a marathon of reading! We ask you to support a reader—ME—so I can make my fundraising goal. Each reader not only fundraises, we create a video of ourselves reading one or more of our favorite children's books. These videos will then be compiled and streamed on YouTube on July 18 as part of a virtual reading marathon to support The Discovery Center.

Details about this important day will be on The Discovery Center’s website and it’s FaceBook page.

Thanks in advance for your support.
